This announcement by Gerard King who has stepped down to be a non-executive chairman now, looks very positive to me.
Especially what he said in this part is telling me that he "as a shareholder" of GPP, he is also happy to see the the focus and energy of the new executives Cameron and Alistair have ; "Already I have been immensely impressed with the focus and energy these executives have exhibited to date..", which he never have had.
I think the 249D notice (or its threat) has done a great job and awakened up Gerard to do the right thing for the sake of shareholders and for himself as a large shareholder.
Yes, as @cfp said anyone can contact to Cameron and can get response if he/her is genuinely seeking the answers for the questions or to make suggestions. Me and some other people I know called him and asked some questions and he answered the calls.
For example, I suggested him to find a farm-in partner for Morabisi project as I still believe there is good potential to find new energy minerals (Lithium, tantalum, niobium, etc) in Morabisi. I now believe they rushed the exploration program and drilled the Morabisi without making an airborne magnetic survey which could identify the locations of pegmatites. GPP does not have to pay anything for a new exploration program if they can find a farm-in partner. GPP and GSM can give %25 each to the farm-inee partner (which could have 50% share in the project) and the partner can pay for the exploration program. GSM could manage the exploration operation while GPP does not have to do anything but could hold the 25% in the project.
At the OHD part of the business I also suggested him that GPP should not invest its shareholders money to OHD business even though the OHD project has a great potential. Instead, GPP should find an investor partner. There are very large companies in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, or in China who have large footprints in agricultural business. GPP can get contact with these companies and convince them to make investment in OHD project.
I can now see that they are in the same path as they say on this anns: "Currently Greenpower is engaging with leading agribusiness groups with whom to partner with and to take this business forward into commercialisation... We are confident that the appropriately identified partner, once selected, will have the expertise to complete the journey and Greenpower will reap benefit"
That is very wise decision I guess.
When it comes to the Cobalt and Vanadium projects which Ion Minerals has brought to GPP;
I have no idea about the potential of Lincoln Springs North Queensland and Ashburton, Western Australia Cobalt projects before drilling and proving the resource. The selective 3.16% cobalt sample from Lincoln Springs is too high indeed. An average grade between 0.1% for cobalt would be great. Anything above 0.1% would be significant, it depends on the mining style, open pit or underground. However any economically mineable cobalt prospect in Australia would be highly valuable because of the low sovereign risk.
The vanadium potential of Toolebuc shale formation in Julia Creek project in North Queensland is well known because of drilling for coal seam gas in the area. The Toolebuc formation has a vanadium grade around 0.35% V2O5. That is a well known fact by the CSG drilling. IRC.ASX (Intermin Resources) and LTR.ASX (Liontown Resources) have vanadium deposits because they in the footprint of Toolebuc formation. It is said that Ion tenements cover the same shale units and are expected to host similar grade mineralisation. The 0.35% grade could be seen low but this is only the in-situ grade. In vanadium business the important fact is the in-concentrate grade which could be much higher than the in-situ grade. For example, KRC.ASX (King RIver Copper) has a 0.30% in-situ grade but has 2.15% in-concentrate grade.
I am hoping that everything will turn to be positive for us the shareholders in the future.
Good luck to all.
