Gwalia doesn’t have a hoisting shaft, that’s why they keep referring to it as the deepest trucking mine in the world. I get your point though and they would have a lot of other infrastructure etc that could be affected in an earthquake. I can only assume that the service infrastructure would be designed for the earthquake conditions.
A quick google search suggests there have been a few decent size earthquakes in the Goldfields in the last decade (one in 2010 was the largest in 25 years and doesn’t appear that it caused significant stoppages to mining operations).
