Some few years back I used to read stories to my kids before they wet to bed. They loved it. Among the favourites were the Magic Faraway Tree stories. It was about a group of young kids who found this huge tree in the woods which went all the way up into the clouds. All sorts of bods lived at differemt levels and you had to dodge some of them especially the washerwoman who frequently threw loads of dirty suds out the door in the tree and soaked everybody. Was her name was Mrs ANZ, or Merrill? Well clouds floated by and on each of them was a land. The kids would climb through the clouds and visit all the lands as they went by.
One of them was Topsy Turvy land. Everyone walked around upside down on their hands and their houses were all upside down. The dogs and cats were upside down too and the cows etc. The Topsy Turvy Police would arrest you if you walked on your feet and everyone would look at you, not smiling. You crazy nonconmformists!
Well I think the medium and small cap gold shares are in Topsy Turvy land just now. The higher the price of gold, and the more they find, the more their price goes down. When DIO had no gold its price was much higher, now it has 2m ozs and rising, a production plant running, cash in hand and gold is at highlevels, it has almost halved. People would rather put their money in fiat money denominated "bonds" which are a license to steal by governments etc. and earn, er...a very few fully taxable percent. Meanwhile we can buy more at topsy turvy prices, because all the financial turmoil will not go away, as dominoes keep falling.
Rightnow DIO is being hit with what a statistician should call an "irregular" event. Joker in the pack. My guess is if one cannot afford to buy maybe not sell, this will not last for long.
But when international banks as big as UBS come so close to the edge- maybe time to put some cash in pecious metals for a while or those that produce them. The value is not in the large caps-heavily overbought.
What are you doing walking around on your feet you outrageous DIO buyers and holders? Dont you know everybody is upside down now? Its cloud cuckoo land!
