You might be right about China and the former Felix directors were unable to get a tenement in Queensland after all these court cases. Chairman Travers Duncan is close to 80 years old and Brian Flannery looks as if he prefers deals these days after success at a power-station conversion in SA.
At least MD Flannery had the opportunity to average down his holding by picking up shares cheap at just 3c apiece. These may have come from a distressed holder once a director.
My guess is that there are plans for WEC to sell the technology to River Energy in South Africa. They are batting around to get a coal fines agreement after S32 backed out of supplying coal fines. Of course River Energy owns 49% of Mountainside in the states and I'd be very surprised if River Energy wants to be left high and dry out there in the states.
What has happened to what was the Tabang Project declared bankrupt. The tenement area and everything built cant have just evaporated. If a company goes bankrupt then it does so declaring losses?
The Chinese are loathe to takeover and run coal projects after the disastrous takeover of Felix Resources by Yanzhou Coal. However, they do get involved in infrastructure and ports. That's why I think PT Bayan TBK may be eyeing up all possibilities here.
There has been a change of President Commissioner at Bayan with Dr Low Tuck Kwong standing down in favour of Mr Purnomo Yusgiantoro since January 10 2018. But Dr Kwong is still there as President Director.

Brian Flannery and Travers Duncan are tough dig it out and sell it coal miners going back to their company White Mining Limited.

What now? Well I suppose we have to wait for SICC to decide on causation. This is a very important factor.
After that will Bayan and WEC go on to Tranche 3 the award or will common-sense arrive on the scene at last?
