Hi Simon , yes all good news although the breaking news is NRW didn’t win the Diggers award . (Who cares anyway!)
https://thewest.com.au/business/min...istening-year-with-digger-award-ng-b88921896z .
Nice to see one of NRW’s (and WA’s) most competent journalists Stuart McKinnon, take out the press award however, and Ausdrill’s retired boss Ron Sayers awarded the G.J Stokes Memorial Award
In regards the links, if it’s OK with you I’d like to share the infrastructure pipeline map and link over on that-6bn-tenderbook
There is such a wealth of information in these threads and sometimes I have wanted to refer back to something but can’t find it
The rise of tunnels does seem to be on both global and national agendas ( they would presumably represent the ‘long night’s journey into day’ aspect of “the infrastructure boom cometh” .).... but it seems for contractors it’s a punishing arena with plenty of drama : https://www.wired.com/2017/04/4-years-seattles-giant-tunneling-machine-finally-breaks/
This story also has mention of Elon Musk’s vision of the future which lead me to expand the ‘tunnel vision’ even further into a hypothetical world of the future where climate change sends the urban developers under ground a la Coober Pedy https://www.outback-australia-travel-secrets.com/coober-pedy-underground-homes.html ..apparently the trend has already begun in the USA https://www.wsj.com/articles/luxury-homes-tout-underground-tunnels-1433426068 and has historic precedents including an 18 level city in Turkey https://www.independent.co.uk/news/...ery-derinkuyu-turkey-cappadocia-a7477061.html.
It would be a shame if Grace, Sandy and mini TBM can’t be put to work elsewhere after they finish at Forrestfield .
The final surprise was that increased energy costs have made such an impact
This has to be added to other cautions like the new AASB 15 accounting rules ( tougher thresholds for construction companies recognising revenues and costs) competiton in the field , increased computerisation and autonomy by the big companies a la Kooaideri....
...And other potential impedimenta to the company’s progress and profitability...
... Like length of cycle . Seems to me that last time the market cap of the company started reducing two years before the end ..
Cheers
