Brian J Hurley AWASM, MAusIMM
Chairman

Mr Hurley is a mining engineering graduate from the Western Australian School of Mines and a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy. He has over 35 years experience in open cut and underground gold and nickel mining operations. He currently conducts his own mining consultancy business since retiring as a senior executive with Western Mining Corporation. Mr Hurley is the chairman of Defiance Mining NL and was previously the chairman of Gasgoyne Gold Mines NL, a successful Australian gold producer.

Philip C J Christie
Chief Executive Officer


Mr Christie was formerly involved in the oil and gas industry in Australia, Asia and the Middle East. He has in excess of 20 years experience in providing geological, reservoir engineering and production testing services to that industry, initially through multinational organisations and later as managing director of a private consulting group. Since returning to Australia in early 1990 he has provided management consultancy services to the exploration and mining industry in Australia and South East Asia.


Roderick G Murchison
Non Executive Director

Mr Murchison was born in Singapore and educated in Western Australia. Upon completion of his education he returned to Singapore to work in the family business. Subsequently, he held senior management positions with two large retail groups in Singapore before establishing his own food manufacturing and distribution business based in Singapore and Malaysia. This business has achieved steady growth during recent years and today it services large multinational oriental food distributors in UK, Europe, USA and Australia. Mr Murchison has been a substantial Oropa shareholder since 1993 and he has represented the interests of other substantial Singaporean and Malaysian shareholders from time to time at the company's Annual General Meetings. Recently, Mr Murchison has become actively involved with e-commerce trading activities on the Internet. His many years of international management experience gained from his former associations with Singapore's leading supermarket groups and his current dealings with international food distributors will be beneficial to the Oropa board in negotiation and progressing the company's international projects.


Bruce N V Tomich
Non Executive Director

Mr Tomich is a geologist with 30 years post-graduate experience in the mining industry. His extensive broad experience includes roles involving technical, financial and corporate aspects of the industry. Mr Tomich formerly worked in the Western Australian mining industry as a geologist before commencing as a mining analyst with a stock-broking firm in 1987. Subsequent roles involved executive management positions in investment banking, corporate and project finance and business development, before establishing his own consultancy practice in 1997. Mr Tomich has assisted Oropa's directors over the past 12 months with their ongoing search for advanced mineral exploration projects in South East Asia, particularly Thailand and Indonesia and he was instrumental in introducing the Pungkut gold project to the company and later sourcing its most recent funding initiative through Macquarie Bank Limited.

Secretary
Dean W Calder B.Bus ACA

Mr Calder holds a Bachelor of Business with a double major in Accounting and Business Law. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with an international Chartered Accounting firm.
He has had many years of experience in attending to the taxation, accounting and company secretarial requirements of mineral exploration companies, and is currently a Principal of the firm Calder Roth & Co, Chartered Accountants.
