Senior Geologist Near Mine

Mt Magnet Gold
Monarch Gold is expanding its gold mining activities in regards to the purchase of the Hill 50Gold Mine Mt Magnet, Western Australia. Monarch has a resource base of more than five million ounces, three gold treatment plants and has one of the largest Australian controlled ground positions in the Kalgoorlie region.

The Mt Magnet project area covers more than 1,100 km2 and has produced more than 10 million ounces of gold, with 4 deposits (Hill 50, Star, Great Fingall and Big Bell) in excess of 1 million ounces each. Current resources are in excess of 2.7 million ounces. Consequently, Monarch is now keen to recruit a Senior Geologist – Near Mine for their Mt Magnet Gold exploration program. The details of the position are as follows:

Responsibilities:
Identify and develop conceptual near-mine exploration targets and work programs through the interpretation of best-available geo-scientific data
Analyse Company resource data and apply appropriate estimation methodology to generate JORC compliant mineral resources
Undertake 3D resource and litho-structural modelling and implement appropriate technical exploration techniques
Planning, implementation and supervision of drilling, and other exploration programs as required
Assist with the development and maintenance of budgets and supervision of exploration personnel.
Experience & qualifications:
Tertiary qualification in geology and at least 4 years’ industry experience
Strong background in ore resource evaluation and estimation procedures
Previous exposure to Archaean greenstone gold systems, including knowledge of mineralisation styles, exploration methods, geochemistry, alteration assemblages and structural interpretation
Computer literacy, including Surpac (or equivalent), Micromine, MapInfo, Datashed (or equivalent).
