G'day @fangulator
I agree with your sentiment that soon will be a golden opportunity for management buying. I might be crazy but I don't rule it out at all - but I don't see it happening just before the quarterly - even if there is not much in it. In my experience, directors generally are worried about the look of buying at such a stage, although shareholders love almost all director buying.
I don't know what sort of trading windows Helix gives its directors but my experience with other companies is that the Director buy/sell windows can be tight as a nun's - much more restricted than most of us think - essentially because we don't know what they know, so we don't know when when they are genuinely constrained.
However ... next week, IMO, should give a rare "clear air" opportunity for management and corporate advisers to buy some stock at bargain basement prices, because:
- the June Quarterly will be released no later than market open on Wed. 1 August - and more likely on Tuesday 31 July (although possibly before - on Fri. 27 July or Mon. 30 July);
- there is obviously nothing material + complete to report as of tonight on any asset deals - but if something matures in the next couple of days they'll obviously be keen to release that pronto - for various reasons;
- there won't be drilling results in the next few days from Collerina or Yathella, as they seem not to have started yet?? - although I agree with Collerina follow-up or Yathella drilling must be imminent. The current 'no results' window may not last for long however, because results might be quite soon after drilling, especially if we start at Yathella, where the drilling will obviously be shallower RC, rather than the deeper holes into the EM plates at Collerina;
Exploration is not for the faint-hearted ... but it can be breathtaking when you hit the jackpot. GLTAH over the next few weeks. I'm looking forward to the spring carnival ...and pretending to stay relaxed in the meantime!
- remarkably, with the stock potentially at a pre-company making point, it is nevertheless dirt cheap - IMO because of concerns that we may do a cap. raise before we get a big uplift from drilling results. I don't see such an early raise happening because we've got enough to put a few holes into those EM plates at Collerina, as well as get a number of holes into Yathella (which should be cheaper drilling??). If after those 2 programmes we haven't hit something big I'll go and quietly drain my wine cellar.
