I'm making no reference to any particular incident. In fact, I'm making no point, or taking any position with regards to any issue at all, including the issue of wage slavery or the abuses of capitalism or the plight of the proletariat.

For me, one thing is paramount, and rises above the issue at hand, and that's the debate itself. So much so, that actually taking a position seems almost facile, to me.

Opinions are trifles. The debate is all important.

What irks me is ideologues and ideology. Ideology places the opinion above the debate, and pickles the brain.

The other thing that irks me is a philosopher (self proclaimed or otherwise) who is incapable of debate. Who accuses others of opinions and sentiments of his choosing. Who displays irrationalities of various forms, and ultimately ends up thinking everyone disagrees with him - even though no one has actually expressed an opinion.

That irks me no end.
