Gee, I don’t think wheat can be grown almost anywhere, but it is adapted to large portion of dryland areas of Australia. It actually does have to meet the requirements of kitchen ovens.
There are different grades of Wheat, that would be something similar (of sorts).
I can see your point.
I also understand trying to seek out worst case scenarios to reduce risk.
