We buy all sorts of electrical gear now with certain circuits turned off. They all come from the same factory and the same production line. For example a Blaupunkt car radio will have all the circuits turned on compared to a lesser model which will have certain features (circuits) turned off. We are oblivious to the fact.
It is just more efficient for the large factories to keep the line running instead of stopping for a specialised runs.

I see the audio chips marketed something like "95% efficiency' which is x times better than current speakers.
Then in a year or two, after further refinements it will be a 98% efficiency' speaker. We will want to upgrade and hence the AKP machine will be maximising sales, margins and profits.
