Haha, a Steven Crowder fan, I presume? So am I.

I can't comment about GNX but if I were to summarise why I think IFN is compelling I would say the following.

Firstly, you're not wrong about wind. Onshore wind was determined as the 2nd most important solution to address climate change in Drawdown (#1 best selling environmental book of 2017): https://www.drawdown.org/solutions/electricity-generation/wind-turbines-onshore

With that in mind, IFN is a dominant pure play in this field on the ASX.

From an earnings perspective I think that IFN is underpriced - and this just considers currently operating assets. Perhaps have a look at at this thread (which should be updated) to consider valuations: https://hotcopper.com.au/threads/ifn-valuation.2949554/#post-19693748

However, on top of this IFN have a large pipeline of undeveloped assets, many of which are shovel ready. Some of these projects are solar (IFN haven't really developed many of their solar assets yet but there's plenty of potential here).

Government policy is the real annoyance at the moment, though consider that public opinion is overwhelmingly supportive of clean energy and even banks aren't financing coal anymore (not because they're altruistic but because they see the risk in the sustainability of carbon intensive businesses against increasing opposition and competition from renewables).

That's a summary. Happy to elaborate if you want to continue the discussion.
