It is interesting to see your decision making process. Your local carrier Maxis' option of ~$10USD per day is comparable with what the major carriers in Australia offer currently. FRX are certainly far more cost effective.

Obviously WiFi is the cheapest form of substitute the next option of course being local SIMs. Obviously the benefits offered by FRX' solution are not being tethered to your hotel room or having to find a cafe as well as not having to deal with potential security concerns.

I'd be interested to know if you would have chosen to use FRX if they had a local data plan available in Myanmar that could have satisfied your need for a few dollars per day?

FRX have massively increased the countries and regions available for their Local Data Plan option, so hopefully you will be covered in Myanmar soon.
