Thanks Japanfresh. I have never seen this technology before and I work in this industry. Asians love their whatsapp and in some markets in se asia its the no 1 product, even in Malaysia people prefer to use whatsapp as their voice platform. Interesting they have 50k subs and majority from Malaysia, is the price high? I know at $10 USD that is the subscriber arpu (RM40) for a malaysia user for existing telecom services. If a user doesn't have a credit card how does he/she top up? I see they picked up awards for this service back in 2012/13 etc but not much news since is this because telcos now have lowered their roaming rates? all operators have a roaming pack RM18 with unlimited calls/text not sure on data though. Operating in Malaysia is super cheap so management costs and ops should be super low compared to Aust.
