But while I am clear on that I still don’t get concept that someone important thinks these days we’ve moved from five year contracts to “almost a position where contractors are now used as surge volumes.”
It must have something to do with sh0rt contracts instead of long ones ?
Maybe he meant surge protectors?

Beyond this conundrum, I wanted to share another potential contract which I don’t remember as being flagged before :

This story notes that GR Engineering was awarded preferred contractor stays back in April
“The mine is expected to employ 183 mainly fly-in, fly-out workers during steady-state operations.”
Possibly, if this is not going to be another owner operated mine, it might be one for us?
....With decisions to be made relatively soon.

Also I din’t know if anyone remembers a photo of NRW Holdings Perth central offices on Great Eastern Highway which I posted a while back ..... it also shows their next door neighbour: GR Engineering!

It’s another excellent-seeming which did the preliminary work for Gascoyne (gold) before NRW took over mining operations there (with enthusiastic response from Gascoyne Management to the NRW trademarks of quality work and schedule-beating performance )
