Indeed, as per the article some operations also re-processed tailings for their silver and cobalt content but I can assure you they did not re-process all of the tailings in Cobalt.

The scale of silver mining in Cobalt was immense. Look at how many millions of ounces of silver were produced. There is known tailings sites all over the place.

There is still TSX listed companies sitting on their own large tailings and unused material stockpiles all over the place - just waiting for someone to propose the right deal to take off their hands...

I would certainly not dismiss the opportunities of re-processing tailings, particularly given the environmental benefits that can occur.
