Hahahaha I shoehorned that in there and of course you guys can't rebut because if you take the time to read both sides of the argument with an open mind you will draw the same conclusions I have.
It takes a special kind of individual to take a pro anarchist stance on an investor forum
A sucker for punishment maybe.
Someone who digs up old ideas and examines them objectively to find the best and most relevant, someone who doesn't care about the form of a thing or being on the outlier of public opinion.
With respect to the WIP, I now know what to look for and I believe real thorough "hands on" research would have identified this issue. I kind of like the conservatism with which the old fashioned partnerships booked cash but clearly that would have understated the assets in a publicly listed environment.
I would like to be able to do that kind of research - if I had the time I could have taken a larger position in this one. Having said that this is a special case - the next investment will have another set of issues.
It's been nice to watch disasters unfold from the sidelines over recent years, whether it be ARI, MRM, SGH or MYR and to learn from others' mistakes.
Besides that I agree with what you are saying, from your link posted it seems the CEO is focussing on cash first to rebuild confidence then the ability to grow by acquisition again is possible. That's what I thought - they watched the heady growth of slaters and played it safe instead.
I like that.
You seem to have missed the main point which I was making though, it's not that the analysis you are making is wrong it's just that it's the kind of analysis that everyone does.
The most valuable ideas are those from the fringe and unfortunately if you have a successful career in business, have made a lot of money, have a financial background/ training and if you have internalised capitalist values you are at a huge disadvantage to me.
I don't need to be smarter than you guys, or research harder, my advantage is that there are a bunch of flaws in your base assumptions. Some of those I can point out without you taking offence - others you get offended by.
It's really no skin off my nose either way, the truth is not affected whether you like it or not. It simply is.
I do like your posts on SHJ Tim best wishes with it.
If you don't mind my asking how many shares are you holding at under $1 and what % of your portfolio? Most of you guys have a lot more money than I do but the gap is rapidly shrinking.
I only have 83,000 at $0.55 which was 10% of my portfolio I didn't have the time to do full research to go harder it was a bit of a speculation rather than an investment as I said at the time.
