This impasse could result in an extended period of uncertainty for OIL shareholders. The meeting must be called within 21 days of the request but does not need to be held until 2 months from that date (at the latest). At first sight it would seem sensible to throw some weight behind the largest supporter (Ian Mann) and the technical specialist (Peter Delaney) as well as Archie Fraser (possibly). If the existing board thinks it has the numbers to survive then relations with Peter Delaney could be strained. In view of the pending European launch of Convivo (surely the most important event in the history of the company) I would rather see the respective groups sit around the table and work out who signs the resignation letters. If this doesn't happen I imagine we will see an acrimonious exchange of correspondence.
