Agree @money123 a short unwind can really light up the screens, however they generally won't be shaken from their position unless there is a catalyst from either management or external events that will change their view.
Interesting that the short interest has moved from circa 6% to 9% since November, whilst the price has been declining. Management need to give them a reason to unwind or they will keep the pressure on. There will be some short interest that is price sensitive, with stop losses at certain price points. I suspect some of these would look to cover now the stock has held the $1.10 support line and is at risk of testing the $1.25 region in the short term. On the other hand, I believe most will have a fundamental view on the story and be looking for this to materialise before exiting their position.
Not sure what games Ausbil were playing over the past year and half, being rather active on market, for a net change of -700,000 shares. They clearly wanted to maintain their ~40mil shares, however had a firm interest in playing both sides of the stock whilst volatility in AAC picked up.
Look forward to today's price action, looking for a test of the $1.165 - $1.17 mark
