Such an approach would be good for the minority shareholders, but I suspect that this is not the plan. Once they have control of the board there is a dozen different ways they can maximise the cash flowing to them over other shareholders. I would not want to be a minority shareholder in any cashbox controlled by these guys.
It is an interesting question if the chocolate business can be sold off or not. While I don't have a high regards for the past or current management, I do think the business has structural issues that make it unviable. There is a reason why the candy industry is heavily concentrated into a few large players and that is economies of scale. I think what a lot of people here describe to management incompetence is actually the unavoidable consequences of a fundamentally unsound business.
