What a great way to make productive use of landfill sites when they're full.  Not a great place to put a new subdivision!

Perhaps LLC/EMC should make an unsolicited proposal to every local council in the country to put a solar power station on every landfill no longer in use.  The council's will still have to go through a tender process, but many of the councils might not have thought of this so the market will be larger, and LLC/EMC will be front of mind.  ( .. and soon will have a track record after Newcastle is up and going).

Carbon footprint reduction is a priority for many councils (and you could perhaps include the ACT Govt in this since in many ways it is just a mega-council).

Even if council doesn't build and own a power station, it can still help by encouraging and supporting renewable energy developments in its area.

The Mugga Lane solar farm in the ACT is adjacent to an existing landfill site.
