I have generally been a retail holder and have only become an SI more recently. I took part in both the SI and retail component. I hate it when retail investors get ignored and do not get the same benefits as SI (it happened to me a lot)

Also, when it comes to issuing shares, you need to look at the "constitution" as to what they can do. All companies constitution will be lodged with the ASX when they list and shoudl be on teh company's wesbite. Here is SP3's:

Can you find anywhere in here that they could have raised cash (regardless of whether it was to SI's or retail) to issue more shares without shareholder approval? I cannot... as such a special/extra general meeting needed to be called. This is usually around one month and I belie in teh case of SP3 it is 28 days (prescribed notice). It is likely that the SPP dragged it out for a few more weeks than what was possibly but it would have taken over 30 days anyway minimum without an SPP.

My preference is at the next AGM they put forward a motion to allow increase of shares by x% so we do not require general meetings. It also cuts down cost and the alleviates the delayed time factors. (Matter of fact I may just email them and ask them to do this!)

If anyone has better advice than me or understand these things better then please post your comments so we can all learn.

Regardless, I feel that this thread is becoming too short term.. I am a medium to long term investor. Lets hopefully not look at today and tomorrow, but more towards the last qaurterly in July this year!
