The mines will be a huge economic boost to the area with secondary benefits in education and health care.
The mine's foot print is miniscule compared to the ongoing deforestation in the Amazon basin.This will only stop once the country has the luxury to pontificate on such matters, and once there is a monied class who can pontificate on such matters.This class survives on economic progress such as we have enjoyed in Australia.
