I don't think it is a good thing for a large shareholder & office holder to lend money to the company they are so closely involved in.
I saw it happen quite a few years ago with Compass Resources in the NT where the head honcho lent the company money only to later use the debt to engineer a hostile takeover ...

If a project stacks up it should be able to raise capital in an orthodox way.
