Here comes the Magnesium battery, Magnesium is more abundant and cheaper than the costly process of refining Lithium host material into a suitable carbonate or hydroxide.

Magnesium batteries are at least a few years off but if a big battery manufacturer wanted to jump onto this new technology then it will be a big problem at some point in the future.

The new titanium / Magnesium batteries are already proving to have double the energy density compared with lithium ion type batteries.

Yes but there are problems with longevity that will take till 2025 to sought out but the main issue is that once switched on you cant stop it , it will run flat even while not in use , good luck with that one.
