That ace, and sentiment for nickel operations capable of producing material suitable for the battery market is starting to take off. That sort of nickel can’t be sourced from the New Caledonian, Indonesian and Phillipines laterites, or Chinese pig iron operations, but can be readily made from sulphide operations like MRD are trying to find. Seeing a lot of nickel sulphide projects getting dusted off the shelf and back into play to try and capture that market interest. I’d say it won’t be long before companies that can potentially feed nickel into the battery market will start to trade at a premium over companies that just produce nickel for the steel market and that will never be capable of selling to battery manufacturers.
