Telstra is a company you could probably do without. I have never owned and never will. Newscorp is a global story. Rupert Murdoch is one ruthless operator. Its never been profitable to bet against him. But would you own it?
If you have the apetite for Murdoch's deals then it wouldnt be a bad bet.
But, sticking with the inevitables and having a 'no' exit strategy is the way to go. Discipline and consistantly adding to quality is the key! This cannot be stressed enough and is an important theme that is talked about on the cho thread.
Wow, Aui, Tol, Qbe, Cba, Nab, Wdc, Wpl are all star performers. Look at the internal mechanics of each company. They all hire the best, they are profitable and they ruthlessly are the number 1 or number 2 in their field they are in (domestic terms).
Whats most important is sticking to long term. Of course there may be hiccups along the way, look at Nab with the trading scandal in 2004. A buying opportunity that begged because sentiment of fear overcame rational thinking. ((NAB wasnt going anywhere over a forex scandal!)).

**Im sure you all have heard of BKI results. Millner tendering the management to bring down MER. Good or bad move?**
