Just sold my entitlement in full via Etrade online but I've noticed that their record show I've sold my original shares plus some of my entitlement to bring me back to my original quantity. Their is no option in Etrade to select which batch of shares to sell, just the quantity.
You may think this irreverent but my original purchase was at a price way below $5.25 and so when I do my tax return I would have a larger CGT liability.
I intend to show on my tax return (2017/18) a CG based on the $5.25 price but will this cause me a problem with the data matching systems the Taxman use. I still use a paper return as I dislike OneGov system.
