I've noticed that you are following this story.

Have you got any comments on the geology.

In the post that I'm responding to above I've briefly looked at the comparison that was made with the mineralisation at Serra Leste. One scholarly article suggests that deposit was formed because

"The carbonaceous metasiltstone possibly acted as a chemical barrier, triggering focused deposition of precious metals through a rapid decrease of oxidation conditions of the hydrothermal fluid."

ie narrow pH and oxygen fugacity conditions that resulted from the sediments capping the intrusion.

We don't seem to have any description of a similar sediment cap existing here or at least none is mapped and our mineralisation is described as coming from gabbro not sediments like at Serra Leste.

Can you give any comment on other known precious metal deposits in gabbro where mineralisation is distributed over such a wide area with such high grades. The company seems to make no reference to the mineralisation being related to veining or any potential structural controls, in fact their drill pattern suggests the opposite as they are basically randomly drilling along existing tracks in the forest. This would suggest that the ore genesis is syngenetic, ie the mineralisation was created at the same time as the intruding body of rock.

Do you believe it is possible for a gabbro to become pervasively mineralised with precious and platinum group minerals at the time of its formation. Surely like in the case of Serra Leste there needs to be some special chemical condition that exists to allow high grade mineralisation to occur or otherwise we would be tripping over high grade gabbro hosted gold deposits every day of the week.Esh
