FOMC meetings have typically short term outcomes. Gold has recently (since rate hikes started) done relatively poorly leading into the meeting and the day after. Gold has rallied most of the time post FOMC outcome, this has been my observation, if I have time I will go back and plot every recent meeting on a gold chart to prove my observations.
