Well with CW seeking one other supplier for certain products, there was an expected EBIT loss of $7.5m pa roughly. But to work out what cost CW would need to beat to DIY, you would need to estimate the cost for losing the whole deal, and then see if CW could reasonably be expected to DIY for a lower cost.
Maybe this issue can be determined from a legal perspective - would there be any reasonable legal argument as to why CW could not DIY, and still retain their lack of control of the pharmacies? Obviously DIY would be another bit of control over the pharmacies, that they are not allowed to own. I admit to being light on research as to the legal specifics here.
