I will state quite clearly that I am not a shareholder, however i have been following EGA on Hotcopper for some time out of interest. Good announcement, however i do have some reservation about the proposed mining method. While LHOS with pillars is nothing new, I cannot think of a single mine in australia where LHOS was used in combination with CRF pillars replacing in-stope pillars (rock) on a regular grid pattern. One or two mines attempted to use pumped grout packs in replacement of rockpillars, however the logistics and cost didnt really stack up in the end. Same for Rothsay - 7g/t orebody is not fantastic, so i struggle to see how CRF pillars as opposed to insitu rock pillars wins out in terms of overall cost, speed and mining efficiency. Also, a CAF (cemented aggregate fill) pillar would provide a more uniform fill mass (in terms of particle sizes) which would probably work better in narrow 1.4m wide stopes. Just my observations, happy to be corrected or discuss further.
