If Santos is a target for majors as you suggest then there is significant value in buying STO now because IMO any bid would have to be over $6 to get anywhere and closer to $6.80 to have any slight chance of succeeding.
If such a TO bid happens the SP would likely run up to $6.80-$7.00 anyway.
I have recently upgraded my rating of STO to a buy and Croas's considered post above supports and confirms my assessment IMO.
