old documents show distance from LD to port Hedland as ~890kms.

I found the map on page 5 interesting:

LD to Balfour Downs (236kms unsealed)
Balfour Down to Woodie Woodie (180kms unsealed)
Woodie Woodie to Port Hedland (360kms sealed)

The total distance is 776kms.

So 110kms shorter than earlier documents.
Savings here possibly on transport.

Unsealed roads from LD on map are 416kms.
RWD Scoping Study has assigned $45m for road upgrades.

It is interesting that Lake Mackay to Alice Springs is 510kms of unsealed roads.
AMN scoping study has assigned...wait for it....A$4.9m for road upgrades.

I'm not sure about the topography of RWD's or AMN's route, but the cost assigned to road upgrade by AMN doesn't feel right.
