I gather they might not reach the majority of shareholders voting to approve the scheme and the Buy-back offer and they didn't want any 'speculative and uninformed trading' ahead of tomorrows shareholder meetings. Maybe shareholders are thinking that the company is being snatched away too cheaply!!??!! We'll wait & see what happens tomorrow - I'm more than happy to keep my shares for the LT if this buyout doesn't take place.

Anyway, here's an extract from the AFR 23/2/07.

The Australian Financial Review --- Page: 57
Flight Centre's 10.1% increase in half-year net profit may be enough to stifle a management buy-out. The company results posted on 22 February 2007 take the net profit to $A37 million, and the shares closed on the day at $A16.90. In October 2006, MD Graham Turner launched a buy-out at $A17.20 per share, and after the half-year results one fund manager is valuing the stock at over $A20. Turner remains confident of the buy-out's success when shareholders vote on the deal on 28 February
