You raise some interesting options that NST could pursue. To date, I think EVN has chosen to simply pay a premium, for the best projects, RRL seems happy to slowly develop their main undeveloped project, plus do some small J/Vs for exploration, then you have NST with Tanami and the CTP, but nothing else.
RMS is an interesting option, I find it very hard to even guess exactly what NST is looking for, on the surface, its all about returns, BUT.... within what timeframe, what asset tier. Almost like they are trying to make it hard to know what they are planning, haha.
Agree about DCN, I am possibly a little surprised that they did not take a shot at them after the big fall they had.
Do you think they would look at 100k p.a projects, perhaps if the ASICs were low enough, or would they only be interested in 200k+ p.a?
Interesting point about International options. I think there are some good stocks O/S, but.. only through the help of others have I even heard of such stocks. Its slim pickings on the ASX for good projects.
Would they simply start increasing their dividend payouts/special divs, even though in the long run they might be putting themselves out of a job.
Am I right in thinking that NST management would only ever merge with another large stock if they were to continue being in charge? I guess I am just pondering that true merging with say, RRL is just not an option.
Other than DCN, GOR would have been a possibility, but they are gone, maybe GCY? BLK?
So few projects have true scale-ability.
Watching, waiting....
