gassed, the problem for the average retail investor in situations like this is that the SI's know important updated information about the company's situation that everyone else will only know about tomorrow. Therefore, while the information is not released on the ASX they are not guessing about the situation while retail investors are.
Having said that, I would not be surprised to see retail investors getting the "opportunity" to buy at the same price on market if not better within a few days.
