All huff and bluff. Anyone who was criminally intent on rorting their position for financial gain in China has long gone. The chances of Australia, or any other western country for that matter, handing over a "corrupt official" to China is zero. They would claim asylum on grounds of political persecution and I very much doubt those western countries would disagree with that argument.
In any case, much of that money would be tied up in legitimate businesses and property by now, invested via offshore tax havens, and not hitting the tables.
The reality is, we know they've trying to stop the easy movement of NEW money out of China via offshore casinos, but that has already been discounted by the market in the SP. Any further efforts by the Chinese will be very muted frankly.
