For 2016 SBM generated free cash flow of $232 million before debt repayments. Relative to market cap., they generated more free cash flow than any other gold company globally. Preliminary info on the Sept quarter would indicate free cash flow of $73 million ($17 m increase in cash and $55 m debt repayment.) This is a 26% increase over average quarterly free cash flow for 2016. On a fundamental analysis shares should be rising substantially, not falling by 18%
When the full Sept results are released, I expect they will show debt to exceed cash by $10 million. Going forward to March 2017, cash should exceed debt by in excess of $100 million. This presents a strong case for dividends. Allocating about 50% of free cash flow or $125 million, would give a dividend of $.25 per share. This is a 9.6% yield based on the current share price.
