    Yes I am. I despair at what we have done to this planet and want it fixed as quickly as possible but it's not an ideal world, far from it.

    Everyone else is an expert on these things it seems.

    1/ Solar power is cheaper than coal. You haven't been taking note of the price of unsubsidised large scale solar power stations recently. In the region of 2-3cents kWh. Coal costs more than that to sullpy the fuel, then the power station is on top of that with all the manpower needed.
    The subsidies paid to support fossil fuel power globally over the years make renewable subsidies look like a drop in the ocean.

    2/ Why would a country at such high latitudes as Germany invest in solar power? Don't blame the process, blame the fools who approved it in the first place. Wind with hydro would be a sensible basis for them.
