Unfortunately and IMO it won't die, and it won't be allowed to die, until there is a little bit of money left and while the receivers and managers will have a say in it.
If and when the money will run out then it will become a different story and all of a sudden the gun will be drawn by these people and loaded with the silver bullet to put it out of it's misery.

But, you never know if there will be someone waiting on the sideline to come out with a different opinion than ours.
