My take on it is the volume of shares traded is relatively low so shorters can sell down the market. Look at the percentages of shorts, close to 50% of those traded each day. That is hard to do with a CBA, so shorters can force down the price, but can they close out their shorts before everyone sees it rising and jumps on it?

I suspect they might also be playing the bots, and using bots to do it. So forcing down the price causes other bots to drop the stock as declining forcing down the price, but when closing the shorts the price rises which other bots jump on to buy it up.

This is our opportunity, let the bots drive down the price, buy, wait for the inevitable rise, sell some, rinse and repeat. Shorters can be your friend. Unfortunately it means that your timing to enter and exit the market is determined by them, so don't keep money in TFC that you need for a particular date as that may be the wrong time to sell.
