I was about to reply giving reason for earnings fall - to argue against your comment on margins squeeze - but I see utsstudent has already done so (as shown below)
'The result included $86.8 million in charges for job cuts and write-downs on engineering software licenses as well as costs related to closing offices and consolidating leased office space....so that's why earnings fell 78%!'
