Sydney - Wednesday - July 19: (RWE Aust Business News) - Macquarie Airports (ASX:MAP) has announced that Sydney Airport's EBITDA (excluding specific expenses) rose 6.1 per cent to $525.6 million for the year to June 30. Revenue rose 6.5 per cent to $659.3 million while operating costs increased by 7.9 per cent to $133.7 million. CEO Kerrie Mather said that the increase in operating expenses was largely due to costs incurred from the implementation of government-mandated security measures, which are recovered through aeronautical security charges. Total operating expenses per passenger, excluding security expenses and specific expenses, increased 1.9 per cent. Other key points from the full-year results include: * Aeronautical revenues increased by 4.2 per cent to $269.1 million; * Retail revenues increased by 4.4 per cent to $155.9 million; * Operating costs, before specific expenses, per passenger increased by 4.9 per cent to $4.59; and * EBITDA, before specific expenses, per passenger increased by 3.2 per cent to $18.06.
