I reckon they do still have their job! Mac is the wholesaler for the money YBR lends. They'd be making a margin on that money that would cover the SP decline many times over. Also, don't forget that the SP decline has no negative impact on Mac's cash flow while the interest received does have a positive impact.
I expect that Mac are very comfortable indeed.
