It is pretty quiet here from HotCooper members, so I think I will reply to my own posting (Yes- I am a sad case!) now that the report is out.

1. Promising!
YES IT WAS - and the report has lived up to the advance warning.

2. single digit P/E
YES - P/E about 7 (now that EPS of 6.9c is out and sp has jumped to ~50c)

3. past the worst?
LOOKS LIKE IT - cash positive and most divisions looking positive or improving

4. will they reinstate a dividend?
SURE DID - 1.5c ff (about 3%ff on sp50c) and room to add an interim as well if consistent

5. is anyone following HNG?
HARDLY ANYONE YET AND MOSTLY SHY! (apart from Mongrel -thanks!) - perhaps many past holders have sworn off HNG (aka HGL P/L) due to a long period of underperformance - I would be keen to hear your views!!!!
