Hate to say it but Bandicoots and Kangaroos are the main carriers of your tick problems.
My mother has a very large garden and is affected by the ticks both paralysis and the tiny grass ticks which you can't dig out.
Takes a Phenergan and uses a cream for the small ticks which kills them and allows you to rub them out a few hours later. She also has a freezing type spray for the paralysis ticks.
