Great to hear SA crop looking fine so far this season. I got smashed last night but thankfully price plummet has reversed and wheat has rebounded. I used to think staples like bread were 'non-discretionary'. But when visiting Zimbabwe and Mozambique several times during past 6 yrs i saw that locals, despite loving bread, simply stopped eating it coz it was too expensive. So demand can be elastic although during my time in Middle East (Turkey) bread was the staple at every meal and i can't see that ever changing. Perhaps in China they substitute noodles with rice although buying power of Chinese today is 10x that of 35 yrs ago. Maybe 15x.
