I actually though the ToyStory / WowBaby cross promotion annoying and very poor....when you go to a Toy website, your first experience shouldn't be prompting you to sign up for a totally different website you have absolutely no context on (users don't understand its part of a network of sites!).

It needs to be more subtle than that and should also be targeted advertising (from within our own network).

If a customer is on Warcom, but has been searching for his wives birthdays presents, then it should serve a YHD ad. If he has been searching for Prams, it should serve a WowBaby ad....for anything else, you could probably serve him an eStore ad.

You can't develop a network effect if no one knows you have a network!
