Another way to think about this is if you wanted to start out in a new sport. You could watch some professionals to see what they do, what equipment they use and how they use it and if you work hard then maybe you will pick up some tips from them. Of course if you picked up a golf club to play golf then there would a chorus of people saying "Just because you use a golf club it doesn't mean you're Tiger Woods" because that is as tenuous as the link is with this whole Buffett argument.

And then of course you come along and say something brilliantly mangled like "I want to play golf but not with golf clubs because that is what everyone else uses"

I was just making a joke about buffets (a classic play on the spelling of buffett) and it seemed to tie in hilariously with the topic because it seemed like everyone was getting a bit tense. Bad timing?
